If you've ever tried to get search engine traffic, you'll know that not all links are created equal. In fact, some links are much, much better than others since Google agreed that their spider, Googlebot, would *not* follow any links containing the "nofollow" tag. Of course, if Googlebot doesn't follow the link, it doesn't pass PageRank and you won't get the full benefits of having a "real" link pointing to your site. A "real" link would pass PageRank and count towards your link- popularity score. So how do you know which sites and blogs are using "nofollow"? Well, it's not easy. You could view the HTML source code for a webpage and see if the links contain rel="nofollow", but who has time for that? You could use a plugin for Firefox which highlights "nofollow'd" links in red... Let me tell you what I recommend... if you're actively trying to get "real" links to your site and boost your PageRank, is that you use the new "Real Link Finder" software by Article Underground member Neil Shearing.
